Stevie Ray's Blues Bar

Stevie Ray’s Blues Bar was born in October of 1994, the brainchild of two visionary Louisville businessmen, Fred Wooten and Michael Pollard. The building was originally constructed in 1906 as a warehouse where they kiln dried lumber for selling down the Ohio River. The prime location on Main St in downtown Louisville and the original interior brick walls that perfectly complement the sounds of blues echoing off of them, combine to create what is now a staple of the Louisville live music scene.

Through the years, Stevie Ray’s has progressed from a venue that exclusively offered live blues music to one offering a variety of different genres of music, to appeal to music lovers of all ages. The blend of the intimate stage, great music, and a dance floor that is perfect for dancing, ensures that everyone who walks through the doors will have an unforgettable night.

Whether you came with friends or alone, there will be plenty of opportunity to get up and dance with fellow music lovers. The bar and the tables surrounding it and the stage provide a good capacity of seating when your feet can’t dance anymore, and the Voodoo Garden outdoor patio provides a wonderful space to chill out, cool off, and enjoy those warm summer nights.

While the ownership of the bar changed hands to the current partners just 3 years after opening, Stevie Ray’s continues to offer one of the most intimate live music venues in the region. Three jam nights a week also provide a chance for visiting musicians and local bands to hone their skills, while hanging out and having fun with the crowd.
